Who are the founders of GOLFPNW
Brendan Durie began playing golf as an eight-year-old Connecticut kid trying to become the next Fred Couples. While that never panned out, he now finds himself in Freddie's native land, working in the game that he loves. Originally, a career in marketing sent Brendan from New York to Los Angeles, and finally to Seattle, where he and his family of four reside today. Upon arrival, Brendan was astonished by the world class golf courses and the incredible backdrops that surround them. He never realized the greatness of this golf region and, as the co-founder of GOLFPNW, his goal is to share it with as many people as possible.
Brendan Durie can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
Derek D. Van Nest is a native of the Pacific Northwest. Having grown up in and around Seattle, he refuses to recognize that anything under 14,000 feet qualifies as a mountain (those are called "hills") and that there is such a thing as "farm-raised salmon."
Ironically, it took his friend and neighbor from Connecticut to introduce him to the amazing golf right under his nose. Now a newly minted duffer, Derek is eager to share not only the championship caliber golf but the delicious bounty of the Pacific Northwest: geoduck clams (pronounced "gooey-duck"), Dungeness crabs, Copper River Salmon, Totten Inlet and Kusshi oysters, Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon, and Willamette Valley (pronounced"Will-LAM-it") Pinot Noir. When not golfing, eating, or drinking, Derek is an attorney, husband, and father.
